The Client
Visit Nicosia, the official body dedicated to promoting the Cypriot capital as a tourist and cultural destination, wanted to shift the perception of the city. The goal was to highlight Nicosia not just as a historical or administrative hub, but as a dynamic, year-round center of creativity, culture, education and lifestyle events. With no strict KPIs in place, the project focused on visibility, aiming to spotlight Nicosia’s events and make Visit Nicosia the go-to reference point for anyone looking to stay in the loop, locals and tourists alike.
The Plan
Our approach focused on two main things: making event information easy to find and giving it a consistent, appealing visual identity, while strategically aligning with Visit Nicosia’s objectives of increasing awareness and excitement around local events. We knew from the start that this needed to be something effective that would live and breathe throughout the year.
So, our plan included:
- Create year-round visibility through a comprehensive digital calendar showcasing major annual events by type and month
- Build a cohesive visual identity by designing adaptable social media templates that the client could use independently to maintain a consistent brand presence
- Further support the client with ongoing content and press to keep the buzz alive
The Execution
Our deliverables were developed across four key pillars, each being worked closely with the client to effectively promote Nicosia as a dynamic events hub.
1. Annual Events Calendar – Digital e-Brochure (Flipbook): We created a visually engaging and easy-to-navigate e-brochure that organised Nicosia’s events by month and type (Culture, Lifestyle, Sports, Education), allowing locals and tourists to easily discover what’s happening next in the city for the entire year. A versatile asset that is ideal for digital usage and exposure.

2. Branded Social Media Templates: We created a series of easy-to-use, branded templates for Instagram and Facebook — helping the team post about events in a way that’s visually consistent and always on-brand. These templates were designed with flexibility in mind, so they could be adapted for anything from concerts to conferences.

3. Press & Media Content: We also helped the team craft six press releases throughout the year, timed around peak cultural moments. On top of that, articles were prepared monthly for Avant Garde’s online portal, offering deeper visibility into what makes Nicosia such a lively place to be and further reinforcing Visit Nicosia’s role and involvement.
