EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ (EOY) is a unique global program that supports entrepreneurs around the globe as they unlock their goals. This empowering program recognizes entrepreneurial achievement among inspiring individuals and companies that demonstrate vision, leadership and success.
Since its founding 35 years ago in the US, this global awards program is now in more than 60 countries and over 145 cities around the world, as it has become the ultimate global competition for entrepreneurs. The winner of each country will represent their nation at the global awards of the prestigious EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Award (WEOY). This international event takes place every year in Monte Carlo of Monaco and it highlights how the world’s most dynamic entrepreneurs — renowned for their ability to discover new opportunities, even in times of unprecedented change — continue to grow and thrive.
In Cyprus, the EOY competition is committed to bringing to the forefront the importance of entrepreneurship in our country in its effort to achieve sustainable development and innovation. Also, EOY awards in Cyprus are officially sponsored for their communication efforts with the support of Digital Tree.
In order to run the EOY Program campaign, EY Cyprus chose to utilize digital marketing to increase engagement and awareness for our event's live-stream. Specifically, we utilized Facebook, Instagram and Google Ads to raise its viewer rate.
Before beginning the planning process, it was first necessary to identify the goals and the channels that we would like to promote the event. These were set with a need to promote the EOY program by creating awareness and promoting the program’s judging panel (Mr Theo Paphitis, Ms Anna Protopapas and Dr Nikolas Mastroyiannopoulos) and the 9 finalists and companies that declared their participation in the EY Cyprus Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 ™ program.
Opium Works took the challenge and created a plan to execute the program and spread awareness around the island through different channels such as Facebook, Instagram, local media sites ( Brief, Offsite, Kerkida - Digital Tree Media) and Google Ads.
In collaboration with the EY Cyprus marketing team, we started the creation of our assets for the event in order to promote it online. Together, we organized a filming day at the EY offices to start the promotion of the 9 finalists of the EOY Program.
The concept was to film each finalist and answer 3 different questions about their entrepreneurial journey to show our audience the various companies of the program and the success story behind each finalist, what are their companies mottos, what and who inspired them to start their entrepreneurial journey and what is the best advice they have received that would share with aspiring entrepreneurs in Cyprus.
After creating this footage we had a strategy to promote one finalist, per day and raise awareness regarding the finalists' names and companies.
EY Cyprus organised a spectacular event at Parklane, a luxurious hotel resort in Limassol. Opium Works was responsible for the master video of the event. The video played during the event to showcase the finalists' interviews and companies.
With the help of the animation team and production team, we created a master video with 3 different questions to be answered by each finalist. The purpose of the video was to help the guests of the event to understand the vision of each finalist.
These amazing unstoppable entrepreneurs were chosen for their passion for reinventing the future, contributing long-term value and purpose beyond profits.
After the award ceremony, Opium Works were assigned to film an exclusive interview of the two program winners Alexis Pantazis and Emilios Markou, who are co-founders and Executive Directors at Hellas Direct Ltd.
The winners of EY’s ‘Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Cyprus’ were judged on their entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, national and global impact, personal integrity, purpose-driven leadership, strategic direction and value creation. In the video, we had to share the overall experience of being a winner of such a noteworthy global competition and the significance of this event taking place for the first time in Cyprus.
To achieve this, we utilized a combination of Social Media Ads, Media promotion along with Google Display Ads & Youtube Ads for the purpose of increasing awareness.
The performance team set up all of the ads and took us live for 10 days. By implementing daily monitoring and optimization, we successfully achieved our targeted objectives.
In terms of the budget and the advertising spend as well as the defined KPIs, the campaign was very successful and it brought back impressive results.
