The Client 

Four Day Clearance, part of Malloupas Group, had the objective of upgrading both the functionality and customer experience of their e-commerce platform. As a popular and fast-growing online furniture and home essentials retailer, the brand required a website capable of handling large-scale product inventory updates while also delivering a seamless and visually engaging shopping experience for customers. Alongside a recent company rebrand, the client wanted the website to reflect a more modern identity while ensuring backend stability, automation and long-term scalability.

The Project 

The project focused on developing a fully customised WooCommerce ecosystem capable of supporting large-scale inventory management and advanced automation. A custom batch-processing system was engineered to handle massive XML API payloads containing more than 5,000 products by breaking them into smaller sync batches, eliminating server timeouts and ensuring smooth daily synchronisation. To improve operational efficiency, a granular admin dashboard was also developed, allowing the client to run targeted updates such as stock, pricing or product additions independently, without triggering full system-wide syncs.

To guarantee reliability, the native WordPress cron system was replaced with an independent secure webhook connected directly to the HestiaCP server, ensuring automated synchronisations execute every day at precisely the same time, regardless of website traffic. Advanced WooCommerce shipping automation was also implemented through a custom rule engine capable of assigning shipping tiers dynamically based on product categories and pricing thresholds, significantly reducing manual management.

Alongside the backend development, the website underwent a complete frontend redesign aligned with the company’s new branding direction. The updated UI/UX introduced a cleaner and more modern shopping experience, while the WooCommerce variation system was enhanced with interactive image-based colour swatches that allow customers to instantly preview product variations visually, improving both usability and purchase confidence.
